Symposium on St. Severus of Antioch - Lecture I

Please join Urho, The Way, on the inaugural session and lecture I of the virtual Symposium on St. Severus of Antioch, on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at 10 AM ET.

In honor of his feast day which falls on February 8th of each year in the Syriac Orthodox Liturgical Calendar, Urho The Way is pleased to announce that we will be holding a virtual symposium on the life and works of Patriarch St. Severus the Great of Antioch ♰ 538.

H.E. Mor Dionysius John Kawak, the Patriarchal Vicar for the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in the Eastern United States, will be blessing the three-part lecture series with his inaugural message.

The first lecture is by Rev. Fr. Peter Farrington, from the Coptic Diocese of the Midlands in the UK. Fr. Farrington has published several writings and republished important works of interest to the Oriental Orthodox communion. He writes about the Orthodox spiritual life and theology, and his blog is at http://www.stgeorgeministry.com where he has made available various translations of the works of St. Severus, including the Cathedral Homilies.
