Sony MZ-E95 Replacing Li-ion Battery in the World's First Flat Lithium-Ion Polymer MiniDisc Player

Описание к видео Sony MZ-E95 Replacing Li-ion Battery in the World's First Flat Lithium-Ion Polymer MiniDisc Player

DISCLAIMER - Always be careful working with Lithium batteries - I do not recommend these currently due to the tight fit. For safety, make sure to keep the battery switch off when not needed and don't leave it unattended charging (overnight, for example).

After the video I've added some padding to keep the packs away from the switches and adhesive to keep them in place.
Remember the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle where a defect made them a fire risk!

The Sony MZ-E95 (late 1999) was Sony's (and the world's!) first portable MiniDisc player that utilized a Li-ion polymer battery in a flat configuration for long-lasting power and a slim frame. It's a fun SP-only player that looks very similar to the MZ-E75 (that had dual headphone outs).

As you can imagine, the original batteries were dead but some replacements can be found online, but I'm not recommending these currently.

I was lucky to get three of these to work on. My friend sent me three of these along with three battery packs. I've heard they were a tight fit - and they are! I think I will try a smaller size (on at least one of the cells) so I cannot currently recommend these.
