Goan Chanyachi Usal

Ingredients For The Filling :
½ cup white peas, soaked in water over night
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 sprig curry leaves
2 green chillies slit
¼ tsp asafoetida
¼ tsp turmeric
½ tsp goan / any garam masal
1 tbsp grated jaggery
2 tbsp grated coconut
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
Chopped coriander to garnish

Preparation:
Transfer over night soaked white peas in a pressure cooker with the water. Pressure cook it for 3 – 4 whistles. Keep it aside. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds, chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida fry for few seconds. Add cooked peas and bring to a boil. To that add turmeric, garam masala, jaggery, coconut, salt to taste. Mix well. Cook till the becomes dry. Switch off the after 3 mins. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
