Conversation: Emily Mann and Alexis Greene

This event is presented by Princeton Public Library. Emily Mann's biographer Alexis Greene joins the acclaimed theater artist for a conversation about her latest work, a new play that will premiere later this month at the George Street Playhouse.

Mann’s new play, "The Pianist," was inspired by Wladyslaw Szpilman’s account of the murderous assaults on Warsaw’s Jews during World War II, and how he survived. Directed by Mann, the play has its world premiere at the George Street Playhouse on Sept. 26.

Emily Mann is a director, playwright, and screenwriter. She served as the artistic director and resident playwright of the McCarter Theatre Center from 1990 to 2020.
