Emily Mann is an award-winning playwright and director, who served as the Artistic Director and Resident Playwright of the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey from 1990-2020, and won the prestigious Tony for Outstanding Regional Theatre. Broadway: A Streetcar Named Desire, Anna in the Tropics, Execution of Justice, Having Our Say (Tony nominee for Best Direction of a Play). Her plays: Having Our Say (Tony Nominee for Best Play); Execution of Justice; Still Life; Annulla, An Autobiography; Greensboro (A Requiem); Meshugah; Mrs. Packard; Hoodwinked (a Primer on Radical Islamism); Gloria: A Life. Adaptations: Baby Doll, Scenes from a Marriage, Uncle Vanya, The Cherry Orchard, A Seagull in the Hamptons, The House of Bernarda Alba, Antigone. Last year Mann was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.

Carol Martin, Ph.D. is a Professor of Drama at Tisch School of the Arts, and Affiliated Faculty at New York University, Abu Dhabi. Her books include: Theatre of the Real and Dramaturgy of the Real on the World Stage. Her articles have been translated into French, Japanese, Chinese, and Polish. Her book series, “In Performance,” includes international anthologies of plays and performance texts and is published by Seagull Books. Her guest-edited issues of TDR include: Documentary Theatre, Performing the City, and The Return of the Real. Martin has been awarded several fellowships including: Visiting Professor Fellowship at Tokyo University, Komaba, Graduate School of Arts and Science; Fulbright Senior Specialist Fellowship; a Fulbright to India; and a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Seminar Fellowship. She has been a keynote speaker at several international conferences.
