#32 Teddy Brown and Elstree Calling

Описание к видео #32 Teddy Brown and Elstree Calling

This was a 1930 film which consisted of 19 variety sketches. The main band was that of Teddy Brown(1900-1946) a very large American/British virtuoso of the xylophone, drums and tenor sax. Josh Duffee has assembled an orchestra to recreate some of the music from the film, together with an edited copy of the film which was Alfred Hitchcock's first faltering venture into making movies. The movie was the film industries vision of how ameterish television (or Cineradio) would be. How wrong can you be! Elstree Studios is now home to some of the BBC's most spectacular productions, such as "Strictly Come Dancing"
