Assam wears the crown as India's largest tea producer, supplying 50% of the nation's tea. The tea from Assam reaches far and wide, with exports accounting for 40% of India's total tea exports. Assam is also a pineapple paradise, producing 18.75% of the country's pineapples, and it leads the way in bamboo production, fostering a thriving industry.

Assam weaves dreams in silk. It contributes a staggering 95% of the country's Muga silk and 65% of Eri silk. Sualkuchi, known as the "Silk Heaven of India," is where the magic happens.

It is home to Asia's first and India's oldest oil refinery. Assam plays a vital role in India's energy landscape. It accounts for 15% of India's crude oil production and is the largest producer of onshore natural gas. With natural gas reserves worth 3.53 lakh crore rupees, it fuels industries and homes alike. Major players like ONGC, IOCL, Oil India Limited, and GAIL have set up their units here.

Assam is also a treasure land of medicinal herbs and plants, with around 300 varieties known to exist. Though only a fraction are commercially cultivated, giants like Godrej and HUL have recognized their value and established plants here to incorporate these natural wonders into their products.

All of these businesses make Assam an economy worth 69.25 billion dollars!
