ಮಗನ ಸ್ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ಫೀಸು ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಆದೀತೆಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿಪಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡಿದದ್ದು,ಇನ್ನೇನು ಮಗಳ ಮದುವೆ ಆಯಿತು ಎಂದು ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರು ಬಿಡುವಾಗ,ಬಾಣಂತನಕ್ಕೆಂದು ಬಂದ ಮಗಳ ಖರ್ಚಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮುಂದೆ ತಲೆತಗ್ಗಿಸಿ ನಿಂತಾಗ, ಅರಿಶಿನ ಕೊಂಬು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಾಂಗಲ್ಯ ಸರ ಕೈಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗಿನ ಸಂಕಟ, ಇದ್ದೊಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನೌಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ಇಎಂಐ ಇನ್ನು ತೀರಿಲ್ಲದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಅಡವಿಟ್ಟು ದುಡ್ಡು ಹೊಂದಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ ''ಬಿಡು ಬಿಡು ತಪ್ಪೇನಿಲ್ಲ ಮಗ''! ಅಲ್ವಾ ಕೊನೆಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಊರುಗೋಲಾದನು ಎಂದು ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಯಾಕೋ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಇವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳೋಣವೆಂದರೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳವ ಕಿವಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರ ಸಹವಾಸವೇ ಬೇಡ, ಎಲ್ಲಿಗಾದರೂ ಹೋಗಿಬಿಡೋಣ ಅನಿಸಿದ್ದುಂಟು,ಆದರೆ ಕೈ-ಕಾಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೆಂದರೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಇದ್ದಾಳೆ,ಆದರೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವುದು ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗಿದೆ....
