Weathering a Steam Locomotive - Bachmann 9F - Yorkshire Dales Model Railway

Описание к видео Weathering a Steam Locomotive - Bachmann 9F - Yorkshire Dales Model Railway

The mighty 9F gets a weathering this week. As always I tried to study as many photographs of these heavy freight engines in the 1950s and 60s to get a good impression of the state they could be found in. Safe to say, you can’t really over do it with this one. Still, I’ve tried to go for a look that is certainly used and dirty but not as extreme as the real things looked in their later years.
Now to crack on with some mineral wagons!

Paints used are Railmatch Acrylics. Powders are Humbrol rust and white.

1 - overall spray of Weathered Black
2 - wheels, safety valves, motion and tender real get a spray of 50/50 sleeper Grime and roof dirt
3 - white weathering powder added to safety valves, pipes and cylinders
4 - rust weathering powder added to cylinder fronts and buffers
5 - Matt black added to buffers
6 - Light overall spray of weather black to tone it all down and blend everything in

As always, thanks for watching.
