Does your teen ever get moody? NO WAY?!?!?! Mine too! Maybe they're related!!! Yup. They're related alright. They are both teenagers.
Such is the life of a teenager, dealing with mood swings and hormones and the ups and downs of teenage life.
Question is: How to deal with teenage mood swings?
That's the question of the day.
We all know that parenting can be challenging. But when it comes to the tweens and the adolescence age when they hit puberty - forget it. Totally different ball game. Yup.
Our kids have the incredible job of growing up, fitting in, dealing with hormones, puberty, friends and a lot of mood swings.
Giving them some slack is definitely called for but so is keeping our cool when they flip out at us.
Our teens go through a lot and often when they 'blow up' at us - you know what? It's not really us whom they are frustrated with. It's usually someone else or something else. Dealing with some friend's teen hormones, some friend's teen mood swings.
I have both teenage girls (4 of them!) and a teenage boy and I can tell you with certainty these kids go through a lot.
And remember that they are still discovering themselves. Figuring out who they are as people.
It's all part of growing up.
