Canon Rebel DSLR - Battery vs. External Power

I received a question from the "Metal Butcher" on YouTube about a previous video.

If we put a normal LP-E8 battery inside the battery grip compartment of my Canon T2i DSLR along with the Kapaxan AKC E8 proxy battery external AC adapter, will it continue to work (uninterrupted power) in the event of a sudden power loss?

Hmmm.... Interesting question. I don't know the answer.
