Romanian Rhapsody - Enesco, Stokowski NY Philharmonic 1949

Leopold Stokowski conducts the NY Philharmonic performing Georges Enesco’s Romanian Rhapsody for Orchestra No 1 in A, op 11 on February 20th, 1949.

This is the earliest recording of the NY Philharmonic I have in the archive so far. And the first without Jim Fassett’s lovely radio voice introducing. Instead, we hear the voice of Deems Taylor who perhaps is more well known as the Master of Ceremonies from Fantasia (and also had a huge part in selecting the music for that movie).
