Pokemon Lunatic Crystal v1.6 - Pokemon Trainer Lorelei (Route 20)

Описание к видео Pokemon Lunatic Crystal v1.6 - Pokemon Trainer Lorelei (Route 20)

Another familiar face from Generation 1! Lorelei can be found on Route 20, right where the Seafoam Islands were formerly located.

Once spoken to, Lorelei will offer you a chance to battle her.

Lorelei as in RBY is an Ice type specialist, although she does have one wild card on her team. Her team consists of Slowbro, Cloyster, Piloswine, Lapras, Jynx and Articuno. Lorelei is the first trainer since Champion Lance to use a Legendary and overall her team consists of Pokemon with good bulk and good attacking coverage, as well as two status spreaders in Slowbro and Jynx.

Here is the team in full with all the movesets and held items:

- Slowbro (Leftovers): Thunder Wave, Psychic, Fire Blast, Surf
- Cloyster (Quick Claw): Megahorn, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Explosion
- Piloswine (Quick Claw): Curse, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Ice Beam
- Lapras (Leftovers): Solarbeam, Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt
- Jynx (Focus Band): Lovely Kiss, Ice Beam, Petal Dance, Psychic
- Articuno (Leftovers): Sky Attack, Ice Beam, Hidden Power Water, Reflect

Slowbro will attempt to paralyze you with Thunder Wave and Leftovers lets it last longer, as well as it has STAB Psychic and Surf, as well as Fire Blast to deal with Steel, Bug and Grass types.

Cloyster is an all-out attacker with a held Quick Claw. Hydro Pump and Ice Beam are powerful STAB options, Megahorn provides coverage and Explosion is there as a last resort that will knock out the vast majority of Pokemon that don't resist or are immune to it, Quick Claw makes this a scarier prospect.

Piloswine is another Quick Claw user, however it functions more as a Curse sweeper, after one buff, Earthquake and Rock Slide will hit very hard and Piloswine doesn't mind speed drops. Ice Beam is there as a second STAB attack.

Lapras is an all-out attacker, forgoing Confuse Ray in favor of another coverage move. Surf and Ice Beam are the STAB moves, and Thunderbolt + Solarbeam are great coverage options which can deal with Water types which would otherwise wall Lapras.

Jynx's main role is a Sleep spreader with Lovely Kiss and she can do it rather well with decent Speed and Focus Band which can let her withstand attacks that would otherwise KO it. She also takes advantage of the good Special Attack stat with STAB Ice Beam and Psychic, as well as Petal Dance to counter Water types.

Articuno is Lorelei's ace and as you'd expect it's plenty powerful with fantastic special bulk, as well as good Special Attack and decent speed. It has STAB Sky Attack which is a 110 Power 1 turn Attack in this game, as well as Ice Beam and Hidden Power Water to deal with Fire types. It can also support itself and its' teammates with Reflect. With one Reflect up Articuno becomes very tanky.

Lorelei can be difficult if you get unlucky with Quick Claw or let Slowbro and Jynx wreck havoc with their status moves, she also has great coverage and a very bulky team. Lorelei, especially with a Legendary is a powerful trainer, as would be expected of a former Elite Four member but 5 of her team members are Ice types, so try and exploit that by using Rock, Fire and Fighting types. Her team isn't the fastest either, so fast teams will do well here.

Once you beat Lorelei you can challenge her again and after you defeat Red she will have a level 100 team that you can battle.
