🔹The 𝘛𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘳 𝘍𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘢 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘦 (𝘛𝘍𝘓) is a lateral hip muscle that is often involved with many dysfunctions of the hip.⁣

🔹It is a hip 𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘹𝘰𝘳, hip 𝘢𝘣𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, and hip 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 and blends with the IT band.⁣

🔹We find that the TFL is a poor substitute for optimal glute function. It is often tender in individuals with hip pain and IT band tightness.⁣

💡Stretching this muscle can be tricky and is often dependent on one's hip structure. Ultimately, it is WAY more important to focus on proper hip stability rather than static stretching.⁣

🔑Be sure to keep the thigh as relaxed as possible.⁣
🔑Make sure to avoid extending the lower back and/or letting the pelvis dump forward.⁣
🔑Push the knee down to separate the hip.⁣
