Top 10 Most Impactful Magic Sets

Magic the Gathering as a game has changed a great deal about itself since its creation. While direct actions can and have been taken to shift the course of the game, sometimes these changes come thanks to design choices or specific cards introduced in sets. Throughout the history of Magic the Gathering there have been over one hundred unique sets with their own cards and mechanics. Some sets have very little impact on the grand scheme of the game, whereas others can permanently change how the game is played or even designed. There are several sets that have been remembered as the beginning of new eras in Magic the Gathering, or at the very least major shifts in the game and its core identity.
