Youth Hitters Do Not Understand the Purpose of the Top Hand

Youth hitters struggle with the same common issues. Their top hand arm is the closest thing to the barrel and they use this arm to rotate the barrel around to the ball. This is why youth players struggle to keep their hands back into Launch and the beginning stages of elbow drag. Teach youth hitters the purpose of the top hand arm and naturally they will keep it back throughout their weight shift and hit balls harder.
