3 Abandoned RR Crossings, Ex RR Shoo-Fly Update & Crossing In A Dip W/Canadian National Locomotive!

Описание к видео 3 Abandoned RR Crossings, Ex RR Shoo-Fly Update & Crossing In A Dip W/Canadian National Locomotive!

Recently Abandoned Railroad Crossings On Norfolk Southern Railroad, Railroad Shoo-Fly Update, Railroad Crossing In A Dip & Trains Booking Through Kentucky! These trains are in Richwood, Kentucky and Walton, Kentucky on the Norfolk Southern Rat Hole Line. This line runs from Cincinnati to Chattanooga , Tennessee and is owned by the city of Cincinnati. Just think of all the cities that wished they owned a railroad line. This line is well over 300 route miles.
The first railroad crossing was abandoned this year. I have videos taken back when they were removing the road and the lights were still activating. See my videos of the Shoo-fly progress that span a couple of years. Anyway, the first train is a northbound manifest with 2 locomotives leading and no DPU locomotive on the rear. This railroad crossing and the next one in the video were abandoned and recently replaced with a railroad overpass. This is Richwood, Kentucky.
The second train is a northbound that gave me a horn salute! That was awesome. We see it crossing over the new overpass and going past me where the Richwood Road railroad crossing used to be. The crosses that I have shown in previous videos by the old crossing are now gone. They were here earlier this year when I filmed some trains. I don't know how many people were taken by this old dangerous crossing. The area looks completely different and you could never tell that there was a busy road intersection and railroad crossing here. The second train had a locomotive leading and a Union Pacific locomotive on the rear.
The third train has 5 locomotives on the rear and no DPU locomotives. Notice that the 4th unit is a Canadian Nation Railway locomotive. That was pretty cool to see. This railroad crossing is in Downtown Walton right behind the police department. It sits in a slight dip with curves before and after the crossing. If you are here without a radio the only warning you will get is the bell ringing at the crossing and then the train horns shortly after that. Trains book through here son!
The fourth train is a northbound double stack intermodal train. It is seen at a closed railroad crossing in Walton. This crossing is only used for special uses such as emergencies. I was told that it was closed years ago after a car was hit here. This crossing is in front of the oldest house in Walton.
The fifth train is a southbound train in Walton, just a mile south of the previous train. This is a loaded grain train that has 3 locomotives on the front. You can hear the conductor call out the next signal over my radio. We also see an ancient railroad tie plate laying by the trees. Look how small it is! The last two trains did not have DPU locomotives.
We also see a Black Walnut tree by the tracks. Dirt has been piled up a couple feet high all around it. That is rough for a tree. Trees can not survive with dirt built up all around their base like was done here. It's a shame because that is a really nice looking tree with plenty of walnuts.
Then we see the dogs at my farm and take a quick look at some of the work going on. My cousin was cutting trees along my fence rows while I was gone. I really need to paint my barn soon. The side that the weather hits is looking pretty bad. The Amish have farms near mine and I had them look at my barn. They were going to give me a price for restoring the barn and repainting it but I never heard back from them. Too much work I guess. Lol. I will have to take some time off and paint it myself which I have done a couple of times but it ain't fun son.
