What is Pancha Kosha? - 5 Sheaths of the Body is the concept well explained in "Taittiriya Upanishad" as the conversation between “Varuna” the teacher the father and the “Bhrugu” the son. An interesting story unveils the layer of the body and elaborates these Koshas:
1. Annamaya Kosha(Physical body): Anna means food i.e. food body. Thus Annamaya kosha represents the Gross body which is made up of Pancha bhutas air, water, earth, space and fire.
2. Pranamaya Kosha(Physiological body):Prana means vital energy which consists of 5 types of prana like prana, apana, samana, upana and vyana:    • Pancha Pranas (The Five Prana Vayus) ...
3. Manomaya(Psychological body): Mana means mind.
4. Vijnanamaya Kosha refers to the Intellect.
5. Anandamaya Kosha refers the Joy and bliss.
