My Classic Car is in Southern California to see what’s crankin’ at Horsepower Farm! There are lots of ponies in the garage up here, but in this episode we’re taking a couple old school Hot Rods for a ride. Special for many reasons, this 1928 Ford Pickup is a custom-built extended cab that has been left unchopped. The bodywork necessary for this extension creates a really cool and interesting look, but what’s been done to the interior is just as awesome. Also unique to this “traditional” hot rod truck is the ’57 Buick Nailhead V8 engine, which proudly displays the period correct 3 deuce carburetor setup on top. This is going to be a blast to whip around the SoCal Hills.

First up, though, is a more traditional style hot rod built from a less customary body. This ‘32 Ford Hot Rod was actually created from a 4-Door, rather than the more common coupe or roadster. It’s spacious, eye-catching, and made for fun. Featuring unique pin striping and alluring nose art, this brown bomber has plenty to look at inside and out. But for some reason we can’t take our eyes off the vintage Corvette 283 fuel injected motor showcased in the open-air engine bay. This baby was built to be driven, so by golly we’re going to really enjoy this one.

Hitting the road in both of these Hot Rods was an absolute blast, and combined with the incredible scenery surrounding Horsepower Farm makes this one sweet show.
