Assam Prawns 娘惹亚叁虾 | Peranakan Tamarind Prawns | Sweet and Tangy Prawns 娘惹酸甜鲜虾食谱

Hey everyone, welcome back to g8stromania. Today, we are going to share a recipe on Tamarind prawns, or locally known as Assam Prawns. This dish is a Peranakan and has sweet and tangy flavours, that is perfect as a starter dish. For this dish, you will need the following ingredients:

6 Prawns (400g)
40g of Tamarind Paste or Assam Paste
4 cloves of garlics
1 chilli
Some spring onions
1 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tbsp of shao xing wine
0.5 tbsp of dark soy sauce
A dash of white pepper

Steps:
1. Trim and clean up prawns.
2. Marinate prawns.
3. Fry prawns till just cooked
4. Boil sauce and adjust to liking.
5. Add prawns, mix and done!
