Haven Burnham On Sea | Full Tour & HONEST Review Of Holiday Park

Join us as we spend a weekend at Burnham-On-Sea Haven in North Somerset, England.
We give you a full park tour, let you know what it is like give you our honest review. Hopefully letting you decide if it is a place you want to book for your break away.

We visited in mid March 23. It was off peak season so we unsure what to expect.
We had booked a saver caravan, and it cost £129 for the weekend, so very affordable. We were expecting a very basic 2 berth caravan but were surprised to have been allocated a really tidy & clean 3 berth one.
Note that basic packages do not include toiletries or towels, so if you want to book a similar holiday, please ensure you bring your own.

Overall, we were pleased with the caravan & for the price you could not fault it. Only negative being that it was situated away from the parking and road.
As with other Haven sites, you do get the option of selecting a caravan in the location of your choice. We did not do this, as we were looking to make it as cheap as possible, and it turned out that we were only a 3-minute walk from the complex and the rain held off during our stay, so it was not an issue.

The resort is large. And if you are located at the far side of the park, we believe it would be nearly a 5–8-minute walk to the complex.
There are numerous play areas & lakes scattered throughout. Making it an ideal fishing getaway.
There is a shop onsite, selling all your basics, i.e. bread, milk, alcohol etc. along with a good selection of souvenirs.
Food wise you have Mash and Barrel (Bar and restaurant), Papa Johns (Pizza), Burger King (Burgers) and a Captain Cod (Fish & Chip takeaway). So, no matter what you fancy to eat, they do have it covered.
As you enter the complex, you can either, go to one of the arcades, of which there are two, one on either side of the entrance lobby or walk straight through to the Mash & Barrel or up to the Live Lounge, their main entertainment venue. We found this layout to be better than the one at Devon Cliffs, as arcades could be avoided if you wanted = better for the wallet.
The arcades at this resort are cashless and ticketless! You get yourself a card, top it up with cash and all tickets you win get placed straight back onto it. We did find this to be a lot better than using cash and tickets, but we not too keen on letting the kids ruin around with what was basically a credit card for games.

We found the food in the Mash and Barrel here to be good. Good variety, tasty and value for money. And we ended up eating there twice on our stay, which we would never normally do.

The Live Lounge we estimate to have a capacity of approx. 700 – 800. Even during our stay this was busy, so how this will cope during peak season, we are unsure. We imagine there would be a lot of queuing.

Entertainment there as in all Haven sites is good. The Seaside Squad entertain the young ones and Bingo is on to entertain the older generation. Along with good in-house singers and comedians.

There are various activities to do here, prices range from free to approx. £20. This site also has:- Indoor pool – 1hr Sessions that need to be booked in advance. We found it to be very warm but there is only one slide.
Outdoor pool – Not open during our visit but does look a decent size.
Outdoor activities – Trampolines, Climbing, the Big Jump etc. Again, like the pool, only available in the warmer months.
Indoor activities – Build a bear, Archery, Slime making, Face painting etc.

In addition to these you do have Seaside Squad entertainment throughout the day catering for the younger ones, so even if it is raining, there is stuff to do.
If you fancy wandering off site you will find that you are literally a 5-10 minute walk from Burnham on Sea itself. It has a large sandy beach, although swimming is not recommended, pier, pubs and a few shops.
Weston Super Mare, Cheddar Gorge & Wookey Hole are all within a 30 minute drive.
10-minute drive away and you will find Brean. There you will find a water & amusement parks with great rides. Unfortunately, this was opening for the new season the week after we were there. Typical Hadwin timing….

Overall, we did really enjoy this break. Proving that even with minimum budget you can still get away & have fun.

Would we go back there again? We all decided that we would go back to this Haven holiday park, but would look to book it in the warmer months.
