Fashion Show Fall-Winter 2018 | ISABEL MARANT

Last night the Tuileries Gardens in Paris were infused with a new hip-slinging energy as cowboys and girls took to the catwalk. Wild and free.
The Isabel Marant Winter 2018 show took us to prairies, saloons with swinging doors, the Amish, and the Wild West. Uninterrupted horizons and low skies were the unseen backdrop for the silhouettes that inspired us to head to the hills with a cowboy.
You could also feel the spirit of moviemakers like John Cassavetes, Jim Jarmush,Wim Wenders, who each in his own terms delivered a particular vision of Americana esthetics. On the runway: Raw wool blanket-style coats to stay warm, and lots of texture. Felt, reversed sheep-skin, leather. And boots. Very long boots, adorned with metal details. The bags were naturally Mexican saddle-inspired. And of course, lurex, printed fluttering silk, and dresses so as to look great when dancing around the campfire late into the night.
