(I have an even better Danvers State tunnel video on my channel as well. It's a different, more in depth, creepier tnnel that goes all the way up the hill to the asylum before it is blocked off. You may want to check that one out too!) So this video is unlike my usual videos. It wasn't a video I prepared to make. Two friends and I just randomly decided to check out a patch of woods in Danvers where I heard the infamous "Danvers State Mental Hospital tunnels" were located, we didn't expect to ACTUALLY find an open tunnel at all! We just went to see if it were true, and there it was! So this video was VERY spur-of-the-moment. I realize it's choppy, and doesn't have the best lighting and it's not as organized as my other videos. ALSO, I realize we are totally wrong about what this tunnel was used for. We were just so shocked we were inside the tunnel that I didn't really think much about the video while I was recording. lol. This was a REALLY awesome explore though! I have heard rumors of these tunnels for YEARS and NEVER thought I'd actually be INSIDE one! Supposedly they used to lead to the Danvers State mental hospital where the transferred patients with Tuberculosis (and other ailments) to and from the hospital without exposing them to the outside world. The hospital is now a condo complex, but these tunnels are about a mile away. Definitely a surreal experience to be inside them!! Again, sorry for the erratic filming and choppy editing on this one (and the lighting, we only had some weak flashlights on hand!) But you pretty much get a good idea of what it's like to be inside the tunnel! I plan to go back and find more (if there are any more)
