Let's talk about the Old English, Old Norse and Gothic language.

Old English was the earliest recorded form of the English language, spoken in England from about the 5th to the mid-12th century. It developed after Germanic tribes—primarily the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes—migrated to Britain following the decline of Roman rule. Old English belonged to the West Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family and had a complex grammatical system with noun cases and strong and weak verbs. Its vocabulary was largely Germanic, though later influenced by Norse and Latin. Important texts include the epic poem Beowulf. Old English gradually evolved into Middle English after the Norman Conquest.

Old Norse was a North Germanic language spoken by the Scandinavian peoples during the Viking Age, roughly from the 8th to the 14th centuries. It was used across Scandinavia—especially in areas that are now Norway, Denmark, and Sweden—and also spread to Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and parts of the British Isles through Viking expansion. Old Norse had a rich literary tradition preserved in works such as the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda. Over time it developed into the modern North Germanic languages, including Icelandic, Faroese, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish.

Gothic was an East Germanic language spoken by the Goths, a Germanic people who migrated across Eastern Europe and the Roman Empire during late antiquity. It is the earliest Germanic language with extensive written records, mainly preserved in the 4th-century translation of the Bible by the Gothic bishop Ulfilas. Gothic was written in a special alphabet created for this translation and provides valuable evidence about early Germanic grammar and vocabulary. Unlike Old English and Old Norse, Gothic did not develop into modern languages and eventually became extinct by the early Middle Ages.
