Gqeberha-based long-distance road runner, Melikhaya Frans, is heading to the marathon World Champs in America next year, after he eclipsed the qualifying time at the recent Cape Town marathon.
Frans has also been included in the TeamSA preliminary squad for the next Olympic Games in 2024.
The 30-year-old is ranked number three in South Africa in the 10km and second in the 15 km distance.
