Batman Unchained, also often referred to as Batman Triumphant was a proposed sequel to the film Batman and Robin. The was to be directed by Joel Schumacher and had a script written by Mark Protosevich.


This trailer focuses on the character the Mad Hatter. There isn't a lot of information regarding the Mad Hatter's role in there film. Only that he would be “similar to Jim Carrey's Riddler”. In absence of any other details I decided to make up my own story.

Jervas Tetch, was an neuro-scientist with an interest in hypnotism and a strong interest in Lewis Carol's story Alice in Wonderland.

After the events of Batman Forever, Tetch recovered the remains of the Riddler's mind control machine and attempted to repair it hoping to use it to better understand the human mind. Unfortunately, while testing his new mind control machine, Tetch accidentally drove himself insane.


Tetch then re-emerged as a supervillain called the Mad Hatter. Now unable to tell the difference between the real world and the fictional world of Wonderland, the Hatter used modified mind control machines hidden in hats to quickly create an army of mind-controlled henchmen. His goal was to finish recreating the Riddler's machine and use it to convince the rest of Gotham that his delusions of Wonderland were true, and they were all creatures of Wonderland.

The Mad Hatter quickly gained a new goal. He was opposed by Batgirl whom he mistook for the character Alice. The Hatter became convinced he needed “Alice” as part of his new Wonderland gang and to cure her of her delusions of Gotham City.


There were a number of actors considered for the role. I went with Rowan Atkinson as part of the request. I also wanted to bring back Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl as I'd never edited her into a video before.
