Making Precision Split-Moulds for Complex Carbon Fibre Parts

Описание к видео Making Precision Split-Moulds for Complex Carbon Fibre Parts

Advanced composites video tutorial looking at the practical considerations and methods involved in the production of highly accurate composite split-moulds using tooling prepreg and mould clamping bushes. The tutorial includes an overview of the pattern machining process, creation of removable shuttering for the mould returns, positioning of the mould bushes and lamination of the mould using tooling prepreg before curing, demoulding, trimming and finishing to produce the production-ready split-mould. The example used in the tutorial is a two-part split mould for a UAV fuselage that will be manufactured using prepreg carbon fibre. The mould is made using XPREG XT135 tooling prepreg, with the patterns machined from EB700 epoxy tooling board, and the mould halves aligned using MB6 mould bushes.
