Part 1 of the ninth lab describes how the MOVIDRIVE® interprets the motor encoder increments to conduct positioning moves. We discuss the calculations that convert the encoder increments into a different measurement unit that makes it easier to program the setpoint positions. We conclude this lab by demonstrating the types of sensors and travel scenarios that are options for the MOVIDRIVE® to locate the machine zero position using a reference travel routine.
