The First Christmas Carol - Sam Ward

Описание к видео The First Christmas Carol - Sam Ward

UK CEO of The Message Trust, Sam Ward, shares a quick festive thought around the very first ever Christmas carol. In this short film he reminds us of those precious words first sung by Mary, forever known as 'The Magnificat.' A loud and proud shout of justice as the upside down kingdom is ushered in.

The first ever Christmas Carol was sung before Jesus was even born. The Christ Child is just an embryo in a teenage womb, but Mary is singing about love and justice and revolution. 'Proximity to the poor' is a theme which features heavy in these lyrics with a shout and a stomp and a jump. Christmas never felt so counter-cultural!

This filmed micro-sermon has been created to enrich your Christmas Carol Service.
