2017 TOYOTA PRIUS PRIME CVT transmission oil change. EASY drain and fill. DIY.

Описание к видео 2017 TOYOTA PRIUS PRIME CVT transmission oil change. EASY drain and fill. DIY.

I’m gonna show you how I performed my first time doing a transmission drain and fill for a Toyota Prius prime 2017.

I would imagine this works for other years on the prime as well. So 2018, 2019, 2020 prime.

I performed this when I had 110,000 miles on my car. The oil actually looked not too bad. But it was easy to do and I will do it in my situation at least every 100k miles.

The main tool that you needed are some Jack’s and or car ramps.

Size 10 hex to remove the fill and drain plugs. 2 gaskets for the plugs.

4 quarts of Toyota ATF WS transmission fluid. And a fluid pump for the oil. I ended up using about 3 1/4 quarts at the most when I refilled it because that’s all that came out.

Flat head screw driver and size 10 socket to remove the plastic Access cover.

First time I took my time. The longest part was getting the car jacked up, after that you can do the whole thing in less than one hour easily.

if I had to do it again I can probably do it in 30 minutes or less.

Importantly you want to make sure that you are on a flat surface or you’ve got some kind of safety so that the car does not roll back on you for any injuries.

Unfortunately my driveway was not very flat. But I was still able to safely perform the transmission fluid change.

*** That’s why I did the ramps in the back of my car instead of the front because my E brake locks the back wheels but not the front. That way the car does not roll onto you.

* Also don’t forget to wear a pair of safety glasses when working
underneath.

Good luck be safe! Easy job to do.
