Westlake, Ohio -- Officers with the WPD were made aware of a suspect wanted for probation violations and fleeing and eluding officers. Officers waited for an hour for the male to return to his vehicle where they tried to take him into custody.

The man was able to get away in his vehicle and a pursuit began with other officers. One officer tried to block the suspect in front and the suspect rammed that officer's vehicle. Another officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the suspect was able to get away. Both of the struck police cruisers were disabled for the rest of the pursuit.

An officer on I-480 then spotted the suspect and engaged in another pursuit. This time the suspect spun out, and striked a few other vehicles before fleeing on foot.

Officers with the North Olmsted Police Department were checking a neighborhood when they noticed a blue pickup truck driving in the same area. The man indicated he was an Uber driver and he was picking up a male in the area. The driver confirmed he was picking up a person with the same name as the suspect. The officers were able to see on the Uber driver's phone, exactly where the suspect was hiding.

- Improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle
- Obstructing Official Business
