It’s Johanna Basford’s 30 Days of Creativity – Day 5!

I found today’s challenge to be the first that really left me feeling stuck. After drawing flowers and coloring glass in the past few videos, this should have been easy – but with so many options, I felt slightly overwhelmed. When this happens, the best thing to do is just start somewhere small.

I wanted to skip this page completely, but I’m glad I didn’t. Instead, I just started drawing a small plant in a jar. And then another… and then I chose a single color for the background and started coloring.

The more I colored, the more confident I felt about the next step. You don’t always have to have the whole picture in mind, you just need to focus on one thing at a time and start SOMEWHERE.

Grey lead pencil
Fine-liner pen (for flowers)
White paint pen
