Cascade Hut - Maungaorangi | 3 Day Hike in Kaimanawa, New Zealand

A three day adventure into Kaimanawa Forest Park in the Central North Island region of New Zealand. I start from the end of Clements Mill Road (just over an hour driving from Taupo) and hike the Hinemaiaia Track into Cascade Hut, where I stay two nights. On the second day, I do a day trip up to the summit of Maungaorangi (1436m asl), which is about halfway between Cascade Hut and Boyd Hut. I return to Cascade Hut to stay another night, before retracing my steps over the Hinemaiaia Track out to Clements Mill Road on my final day.
