ROADS UPDATE WATCH

Highway at Gordonvale has reopened although the gillies range and Kuranda range still remain closed. No access to the tablelands that way.

I wasn’t able to get out to Yarrabah as the Captain Cook Highway was closed at Gordonvale when I came through.

Smithfield bypass and the Captain Cook Highway still closed with MAJOR flooding, will not be open for a while however, everyone with a boat is putting it in down near the Council transfer station at Trinity to take supplies, food and fuel to people cut off in Yorkeys Knob, they have been stranded since before the Cyclone came through and struggling.

Police still turning people away and stopping them from putting boats in anywhere around Machans and Holloways beaches where people remain cut off.

Landslides up the Copperlode lookout, trees down in botanical gardens have been cleared and road re-opened..
