Описание к видео Songs Orisa Elegua Elegba Sango Osun Obatala Orula Ifa Ogun Ochossi Babalu Voodoo Hoodoo Upliftment

Thank you for watching. This video is a presentation of an Oro/Oru for Elegua/Elegba. I created this to help me learn the order in which to sing to Orisha for many number of occasions. This order is the one I learned and not necessarily the only one or the most correct one. I have seen many different orders for many different occasions. But basically, this is close to how most people will play or sing this Oro. I did put words (lyrics) on the video. I used John Mason’s “Orin Orisa” and Maria Ogunbemi’s “The Ritual Use of Plants” (both invaluable books in my collection and very much worth the cost) to come up with what I have on this video. I also made adjustments per what my ear “told me”. Everybody sings the songs slightly differently (words, melody, length etc.) and it really is a very African and personal thing when singing these songs. So forgive me if you have different words. These words that I have here are not definitive. This is meant as entertainment, but also as a learning aid, so that we can learn songs to help praise and love Orisa. Thanks to Abbilona, Omo Alagba and Lazaro Ros for the beautiful music. Thanks to the internet (too many to thank) for the beautiful artwork. Give Thanks and 1OVE
