Across the Miles (Sunday Night at New Day)

Описание к видео Across the Miles (Sunday Night at New Day)

A folky/old country style song about a complicated, long distance, almost-relationship I had in my late 20's. We both loved folky and old-timey music, so i wrote it in that style.

Across the Miles (Sunday Night at New Day)
by James Burkey

It's midnight here and my mind is far off and aways
To a place I've never been to and a journey of two days
Hovering over you tenderly while you lay
Sleeping on your bed, kissing your sweet face.

I spend my days thinking about what you're going to do
And wondering if you are thinking about me, too.
Wishing that when at last you went upstairs to bed
It was me, not him, curling up to you instead.

But here I am, and there you are, and what can I do,
But lay here and send my love across the miles to you?
It tucks you in, kisses your cheek and turns out the light
And returns to me as I bid you good night.
