I must have inadvertently put hummingbirds on my list of things I wanted to capture on camera because I ended up at Orchard Lake, and it has hummingbirds! I remember admiring a close-up photo of a hummingbird the day before I ended up at Orchard Lake, but I thought I could never get one on camera, unless I intentionally went to a flower garden, because I generally film from beaches and boat launches. But I also have a close-up UFO on my list, so I don’t know why a hummingbird was too improbable.🤣

There exists a lake with a lakeside park that has wildflowers and a retaining wall instead of a beach, and I hadn’t heard of it. But I got diverted from my original destination one evening when my son called to ask me to bring to him from home his shop keys so he could close the shop. The sunset wasn’t interesting my first evening there, so I filmed four days later. On the first evening, I took a close-up photo of the flowers (looks like honeysuckle) that the hummingbirds were after on the second evening. I’m imagining Orchard Lake jumping up and down in the back trying to get attention when I admired a hummingbird. 🤣

This lake has a beach too, but it’s on the other side of the lake.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a mature tree neighborhood around this lake.

A lawnmower was running all evening, so this sunset gets music. I added chirping at the end.

super funny—the spider must have a force field around it!🤣

Notice the solitary parking spot facing the lake. That’s a unique park attribute! One’s family could fling all the doors wide open, and Mom wouldn't have to worry about dinging cars.🤣

I had the camera aimed at Arcturus, but the sky was too hazy to see stars. But I got a bat!
