We found this soundtrack while looking for a track from the Pixel Mixers contest, and while we went for a different track there, I still really wanted to cover this as well!
When I transcribed the intro, I realised it already kind of sounded like Hotel California, so I found a tab of that and just changed all the notes in that intro riff to the notes from this Last Ninja 2 song and it seemed to work pretty well! I let that influence the rest of the intro with some clean and slightly overdriven guitars layering some melody. Once we got to the big change, I wanted to change it up and go heavier, because that main riff was just so much fun to play! I did my best to try and change up the riff(since in the original it just plays almost forever).
Anyway, I don't have an acoustic guitar and I felt like the intro really needed that sound. Thankfully, Jinx answered my call for collaboration and did a fantastic job. I then knew I wanted something to smooth out the guitars and couldn't help but add some clarinet. Luckily I know a great clarinet player!
