Chechnya - Maskhadov addresses presser

The apparent victor in the Chechnya election, Aslan Maskhadov, gave a press conference on Tuesday afternoon (28/1) to comment on the results of the election.

Aslan Maskhadov SOT (RUSSIAN): "We in 1991 defined ourselves as an
independent state with it's own soverignity now we are alone. Other states can recognise us including Russia. Thats what we will work for in our political fight";
Journalist asks " Will you settle for less?" Maskhadov answers "No";
Maskhadov SOT "I haven't promised the field commanders (including Basayev) anything. I haven't promised anyone anything. I plan to meet all our brothers-in-arms all my armed friends, a group of known people who we trust and we'll think what we'll do further. To whom we'll propose what in which way we'll work. So Shamil Basayev has the right to take part in the discussion.
