One Life to Live 2/1/1989

[First episode in Eterna]
Delilah arrives late to her first rehearsal at Rob’s club, but she promises to be more punctual in the future. After rehearsing and picking a setlist, Delilah’s accompanist Norma tells her a cautionary tale of trying, and failing, to balance performing with family life. In an underground cavern, Tina wakes up and tries to revive Gabrielle, who remains unconscious. Tina manages to revive Gabrielle then begins yelling for help. Gabrielle tells her to stop; no one is out there, and she says they need to follow the passageway toward the light and humming sound they noticed when they were above ground; Tina reluctantly follows. Close behind them, Michael rappels down into the cavern. Viki returns home from California and Clint tells her his suspicion that either Megan or Sarah is her daughter. Clint is about to explain his theory when Viki says she had come to the same conclusion, but Roger’s former assistant, Miss Lovett, swears both Gordon daughters are Carrie’s. Later, Viki gives Kevin, Joey, and Jessica the presents she brought back from California. Roger is back from Europe and says Miss Lovett stuck to the story; Carrie insists it’s time to tell everyone the truth. Roger insists he needs more time, because he’s more certain than ever that Michael Grande is looking for Eterna.

Delilah has to rush off to pick up Sammi as Coco arrives to talk about the magazine article she pitched. Asa and Cord arrive home and Renee tells them she heard from Tina. Cord heads home to Llanfair to meet her. Tina refuses to go any deeper into the tunnel before Gabrielle tells her where they’re going and why. Gabrielle promises to tell her everything once they get to their destination. They arrive in an underground library. Tina realizes Viki’s dreams about underground tunnels were actually memories. After finding a skeleton wearing the same strange pin Viki has, Tina demands answers, and Gabrielle explains the City of Eterna (conveniently forgetting to mention Michael or the gold). Tina begins looking for a way out and goes through a door into what seems like a barred cell. A gate drops shut behind her, trapping her inside.
