Just in time for Christmas…a little photography talk, a little tawny port action, and a little white dog that won’t leave me alone. Aw. It’s all so damn cute. I mean, come on, look at that tree in the background. The only thing that’s missing is a fireplace. And my mental stability. Don’t let the cheerful demeanor fool you. I’m a broken shell of a man deep down inside.

Nah, not really. I just can’t believe how time is slipping away from me. I mean, the year twenty-twenty-f’ing-two is right around the corner? Are you kidding me? I thought it was still 2019.

But we’re not here to talk about my grapplings with the abstract. We’re here to talk photography while I enjoy a Taylor Fladgate 20-year Tawny Port. It’s delish because it’s basically dessert booze. Pour a cool glass of tawny port after a big ol’ filet and baked potato dinner and you’ll see what the hubbub is about. You won’t even need that soufflé after a glass of this.

I didn’t intend it to go this way but this episode (that word always feels weird to me) of Behind the Glass With a Glass took on a distinctly black-and-white theme. I got some new Kodak Tri-X 35mm shots to share with you - you read that right…35mm. Plus I have some new artwork to talk about that I made for Harland Brewing in San Diego. They commissioned me to do some monochrome shots in Torrey Pines State Park, both 6x17 and 4x5 large format shot on Kodak Tri-X and New55 PN100 film. I’ll also share with you the importance of UltraVue anti-reflective glass on artwork.

I hope you enjoy my ramblings and pontifications. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Festivus for the rest of us!
