SHE WON $5,000 in 8 minutes!

Many Black women small business owners think they could NEVER get on stage to pitch their business to ask for money.

Is that you?!…

Pictured above is one of my most recent private 1:1 grant coaching clients, Tae, a swim instructor in NY who followed my instructions on how to pitch her business (on video — even when she didn’t feel like it) to get selected for a small business pitch competition for her Black woman-owned (for-profit) small business.

She soon thereafter found out…my nudges during our weekly TikTok live video chats for her to apply…worked!

She FREAKED OUT (her words) with excitement (and nervousness) when she received the email that…

She was selected as a Finalist!!!

She immediately emailed me, asking to work with me one-on-one to help her:
Secure the funding with a stronger foundational pitch competition (and future grant funding) strategy
Leverage her compelling story while highlighting her community/social impact
Gain exposure and increase her network (and her net worth)

This would be her first time pitching her business for funding, live.

She had applied for grants before, but…hadn’t won yet.

She signed up to coach with me one-on-one, and…

Last week, she shared her story in front of a LIVE studio audience,,,for the first time…during hurricane season in Florida!

She showed up.

She showed up for herself.

She showed up for her business.

She showed up for low-income youth in her city.

She showed up for Black Women In Grants.

Annnnd…

She WON!

Now, she has a message that conveys her heart, along with the funds to help move her mission forward in a way that inspires judges of grants and grant-funded opportunities to invest in helping her expand her services and reach more people.

She now has a strategically refined pitch that she can (and will) continue to deliver to be selected as a finalist (again and again…and again) for future small business grants and pitch competitions that has prepared her for her next opportunities.

In my 1:1 coaching, I help Black women for-profit small business owners prepare to pitch their business (on and off camera) and/or apply for her first — or next — small business grant (or grant-funded opportunity)!

ARE YOU READY TO WIN?

If you know your business product or service very well (like, you could talk about it all day), but you need help structuring how you talk about it (while asking for money) in a compelling and concise way — that will get the judges to give YOU the check…

I have a track record for helping Black women win.

If you want to apply for (and win) small business grants and/or grant-funded opportunities like small business pitch competitions but, you don’t want to leave out any key details (due to a timed pitch or limited word count on your next small business grant application)…

If you need help differentiating your business from your competitors…

If you need strategy, accountability, and a safe / sacred space to practice your pitch delivery or audit your application while providing you with grant-winning insight, expertise, experience, feedback and guidance — until it feels seamless for you…

I’ll share with you exactly what panel judges and grant review boards are looking for (as I’ve served significantly on that side of things).

During our time together, we’ll focus on helping you develop a strong narrative and confidence using a practical approach to help you polish your presentation in a way that resonates with a voting audience and a panel of judges (all grants and small business pitch competitions have them).
