An introduction to process simulation using UniSim [by Dr Bart Hallmark, University of Cambridge]

Описание к видео An introduction to process simulation using UniSim [by Dr Bart Hallmark, University of Cambridge]

This introductory seminar describes the essential steps that should be taken when starting a process simulation using UniSim or HySys. No prior simulation knowledge is assumed.

This set of process simulation tutorials using UniSim (but also applicable to HySys) is intended as a basic introduction to process simulation. Tutorial 1 assumes no prior process simulation knowledge and tutorial 2 assumes a very basic familiarity with process simulation, equivalent to what is taught in tutorial 1.

Tutorial 1 covers chosing chemical species, thermodynamics and specying reactions (part 1); using material and energy streams (part 2); basic unit operations such as pumps, compressors, heaters & coolers (part 3); conversion reactors and multiphase flash (part 4); using and sensibly converging recycle operations (part 5).

Tutorial 2 covers basic distillation simulation scenarios and includes multiphase flash separations (part 1); the use of short-cut columns and component splitters (part 2); basic rigorous distillation simulation and converging to different specifications (part 3); troubleshooting the simulation of distillation sequences (part 4); obtaining tower diameter, tower pressure drop and other hydraulic information (part 5).
