Today we visited the East Anglian Railway Museum for the home fleet diesel gala. Although the museum is small a lot was crammed in with five locos running the service through the day.
The star of the show was W&M Railbus E79963, which has been sat still during its overhaul for around 8 years, today being its first day in public operation since.
Other locos running the service was class 04 D2279, Barclay shunter ‘John Peel’, a two-car DMU and a rather old freelance shunter, which were all sharing duties through the day.
The Chappel Miniature Railway was also running, with Tinkerbell ‘Frederick’ running trains as and when required. The model exhibition and museum was also open for public viewing.
Thanks to the team who organised the event, a must for anyone in the area!
