The greatest endgame expert of our time - GM + Dr. Karsten Mueller

Karsten Mueller is a genuis. He is a GM and at the same time holds a Ph.D in Mathematics. After becoming a grandmaster Karsten decided to become an endgame expert in chess.

But what does being an endgame expert mean? Karsten spends majority of his time doing research on endgames, writing books, analyzing positions with tablebases. Thanks to his background in mathematics, he has the critical approach of trying to find the perfect proof of every position, no matter how complicated.

In this interview with IM Sagar Shah, we get to know why did Karsten Mueller choose the endgame. He analyzes some of his favourite games which includes the amazing analysis of Shirov vs Lautier and Karpov vs Kasparov.
