- lead a small life...enjoy the small things in life, watching life go by, the mundaneness of life, the mini moments of connection, slow down to be present to the small moments of your life
- lead a big life...follow your passions, take aim at the big things you want, notice the deeper yearnings of your heart and soul

4. Learn how to make contact with yourself and other people
- slow down enough to be in relationship and in rapport with yourself - so you're good with yourself, you know who you are, you know what your life is about.
- when with others, don't just tell them fun stories, be in relationship, be mutually impressionable, receiving and giving impact, letting other people impact you.

5. Valuing the contentment of presence
- this is realizing that when you are fully present, there is a kind of contentment irrespective of what's actually happening, good or bad. When you're in the office, be in the office. When you're cleaning your teeth, clean your teeth. Not eating memories, not fantasizing about the future. Notice when you've drifted from presence, and bringing yourself back into it.
