The first White Coat Ceremony was held in 2003. Each year in early October, MD students are invited, along with their families, to an evening at which they are presented with their first white coat. This has become a Mac tradition and one which we have found formalizes the McMaster experience in a meaningful way.

The White Coat Ceremony is hosted by the dean of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Dr. Paul O’Byrne.
