CAREY MCCLURE, BROKER/REALTOR®, TAKES US ON A TOUR OF HOLDEN BEACH, WITH INFORMATION ABOUT HOMES, LIFE ON HOLDEN BEACH, RESTAURANTS AND OTHER ATTRACTIONS, AND THE FEATURES OF THIS OCEANFRONT COMMUNITY THAT ARE ESPECIALLY ATTRACTIVE TO BOATERS.

Hi, we're here at Provisions at Holden Beach, a great little restaurant with an open bar up top and deck with live music on weekends, as well as a place to dock your boat and just relax and maybe play corn hole for the day.

I wanted to speak to you for a minute about Holden Beach and some of the things that go on here. Holden Beach has about 930 residents year round and spans out to 10,000 people throughout the season and the summer. It's kind of a sleepy little beach town that has been known for families just coming to visit. Some of the things they like to do here is ghost crabbing on the beach with flashlights at night, paddle boarding, golfing - there are several golf resorts very close to here - riding bikes around Lockwood Folly and as well as enjoying the Intracoastal Waterway behind me as well as the beach itself.

A lot of the homes here are homes that are rented week-to-week for the summers. It's a great place to have an investment property as well as have your permanent or vacation home. Homes usually typically range between $125,000 on up to over a million dollars, so it just depends on location, whether on water or not and how close you are to the waterway or the ocean itself. There are some Airbnb here as well that are available if you would just like to come visit for the week.

Typically here households or houses have three bedrooms, two bath at least. So if they are vacation homes, there's space for everyone. Most homes here on pilings as well, so there's typically parking underneath the homes as well as having entrances to the beach if you're close to the beach as well, every so many feet so that you have public access.

This beach is basically known for small town charm. We have a lot of restaurants here, including Provisions, Castaways and Mermaids that are actually located with beach views as well, shopping with local beach stores and some hometown restaurants for that "hometown feel" food. This is known as a friendly, safe beach. Typically here people can walk, bike, run, whatever they would like to do and feel safe doing so.

LOCKWOOD FOLLY INLET
Behind me, you'll see Lockwood Folly Inlet. This is the Inlet where a lot of boats come into the Intracoastal Waterway. Just on the other side of the Inlet is Oak Island. There's a lot of homes over there that you can see from here as well. And just around the corner is Lockwood Folly Inlet. It's kind of a hangout area for boats. You can beach your boats up there, or anchor them, and hang out for the day, have a picnic, play on floats, anything that you would like to do to enjoy your day.

And around the corner from us is a secret mailbox. They're known as "mailboxes of Holden Beach." There's three actually on this beach. This one on the end is the original mailbox and it has a notebook inside that kind of tells what people enjoy about the beach, what their fondest memories are here. And beside it is also a tree where people have decorated with shells that they found on the beach. So it's something really cool to see if you come to Holden Beach.

HOLDEN BEACH BRIDGE AND HOLDEN BEACH MARINA
We're here on the Intracoastal Waterway at Holden Beach. You can see beside me is the Holden Beach Bridge, as well as behind me is the Holden Beach Marina. A lot of locals store their boats there to be brought down for weekends or just whenever they are ready to use them.

Also, behind me is a lot of the shrimp boats and charter boats at Holden Beach. You can fish with a charter boat company if you don't have a boat of your own. Of course you can come right here to the Wildlife ramp to put your boat in as well as across at the Marina.

Right down from us is Provisions restaurant, which is a great restaurant to just hang out on the open top canopy. Also, you can drive your boats up and dock if you've been out for a day on the water. And just to my right is the Holden Beach Park. It has a splash pad as well as tennis courts, basketball courts, and also a dock to where you can launch your kayak.
