Ancient Bristlecone Pine, Schulman Grove Visitor's Center, White Mountains. Doug Berry and friend Kellie of the Sierra Region of California and Nevada search out the world's oldest living thing; Methuselah, 4,853 years old. Starting from Nevada they drive up into the scenic high elevations of the White Mountains of California. These mountains are located east of Bishop and reach elevations in excess of 11,000'. Here at around 8-10,000 ' elevation are found the Great Basin Bristlecone Pine which live for thousands of years clinging to the dolomitic slopes.
