Struggling to breathe at 10,000 ft amongst the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, California.

Driving from Beatty, Nevada to Mammoth Lakes, California. We needed to stop for a break, so where better than the stunning Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest.

After a gnarly drive up off the main road, we arrived at the Schulman Grove Visitor Centre. Deciding to walk the short Discovery Trail, where you can see the trees up close and in their mature glory. We also saw these super cute Marmots.

The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is home to the oldest trees in the world, bristlecone pines. Some of these living trees exceed 4000 years of age.
